1941 Pontiac Model 2927 "Custom Torpedo". Mr. Jerrel Suter, a 94-year-old longtime resident of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, is selling his Pontiac. Mr. Suter purchased this car in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 1996. He completely stripped the body of all paint before any bodywork was performed. All dents were hand-picked and filed rather than filled with body filler. After the bodywork was completed, the car was coated with epoxy primer, followed by high-build primers to prepare the body for the final top coats of paint. The final color coats were applied by Classic Auto Body in Waynesboro, Virginia. The chassis was completely disassembled, and the brakes were rebuilt, including the master cylinder and wheel cylinders. The engine work was completed by Larry Skillman of Valley Auto Machine in Waynesboro, Virginia (now retired). The engine was bored .030 over and fitted with new pistons and bearings. It features a 248.9 cubic-inch L-head straight-8 engine. The 3-speed column-shift transmission operates as it should. The chrome work was completed by Martin Brothers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The original-pattern upholstery was completed by a company in Schenectady, New York. The woodgrain finish on the dash and window frames was silk-screened from original GM patterns. The tires are new from Coker Tire. A new battery was installed in 2025 from Interstate Batteries. Mr. Suter drove the car to the auction gallery. The car starts, runs and drives as it should. (Personal items in trunk do not convey with the car.) VIN: L8JC4523
